Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund Awards Grant to Humane Society that Improves the Quality of Life for Homeless Pets

Kalispell, MT – The Humane Society of Northwest Montana, home of the Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a generous $2,000 grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund to purchase kennel cleaning station equipment that will protect the health of homeless pets.

As part of the Weyerhauser Giving Fund mission to improve the quality of life in communities where Weyerhaeuser has a presence, the Humane Society’s newly redesigned foam spray kennel cleaning stations improve the quality of life for orphaned pets daily.  The new kennel cleaning stations offer maximum sanitation and health protection for pets and people while reducing the potential spread of airborne bacteria.

According to Lori Heatherington, Humane Society Executive Director, “Because of Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund’s generosity, the Humane Society is able to continue its mission to provide a caring and safe environment for dogs and cats.”

Dependent on community donations for support, the Humane Society does not receive any government funding or funding from any national animal welfare groups. Tax deductible donations from individuals, businesses and charitable foundations provide the support needed to care for orphaned animals as they await adoption.

The Adoption Center visiting hours are TuesdaySaturday from 11am to 5pm. For more information, visit www.humanesocietypets.com.
