Petco Foundation Invests in Lifesaving Work of Humane Society of Northwest Montana
Grant of $4,000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives in Northwest Montana
Kalispell, MT – The Humane Society of Northwest Montana is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its adoption preparation program.
The Humane Society of Northwest Montana is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a caring and safe environment for dogs and cats until they can be united with a forever home and has been serving the Flathead Valley community for eleven years. Since opening its doors in July 2004, the Humane Society has operated under the no-kill philosophy and helped to save the lives of thousands of homeless cats and dogs.
The Petco Foundation investment will help to provide direct critical care to cats and dogs awaiting adoption. All Humane Society pets will be examined by a licensed Veterinarian upon intake and will also be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption.
“Petco Foundation has always been a number one supporter of helping homeless pets and this grant is further proof that the Foundation saves lives” said Lori Heatherington, Executive Director.
The Petco Foundation has served as a voice for companion animals across the country since 1999. Today with more than 8,000 local animal welfare partners across the county, the Petco Foundation donates approximately $15 million a year to make a difference in the lives of millions of animals. The organization is funded through donations raised during fundraisers conducted in Petco’s more than 1,300 stores across the county, as well as from Petco associates, vendors and corporate contributions. Money raised helps fund animal welfare organizations, spay and neuter efforts, and animal-assisted therapy programs and humane education. The majority of the funds raised remain in the communities where they were raised, as well as animal welfare efforts nationwide.
