Petco Foundation Invests in Lifesaving Work of Humane Society of NW MT
Grant of $7,000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives in Northwest Montana
Kalispell, MT – The Humane Society of Northwest Montana is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $7,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its adoption preparation program.
The Humane Society of Northwest Montana is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a caring and safe environment for dogs and cats until they can be united with a forever home and serves northwest Montana. Since opening its adoption center doors in July 2004, the Humane Society has operated under the no-kill philosophy and helped to save the lives of thousands of homeless cats and dogs.
The Petco Foundation investment will help provide direct critical care to orphaned and abandoned pets. All Humane Society pets are examined by a licensed Veterinarian upon intake and vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered before adoption.
“Petco Foundation’s support and partnership make it possible for the Humane Society to save the lives of homeless cats and dogs so that each pet is prepared to live its best life” said Lori Heatherington, Executive Director.

About the Petco Foundation
At the Petco Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, we’ve invested more than $135 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. Working with thousands of animal welfare partners, we inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay/neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through our Think Adoption First© program, we partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the county to increase pet adoptions. So far, we’ve helped more than 4.2 million pets find their new loving families, and we’re just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved.
