National Day of Service

Honoring the Tradition with Volunteer Orientation

In honor of the fourth annual “National Day of Service” on Saturday, January 19, 2013, the Humane Society of Northwest Montana is hosting Volunteer Orientation.  At the Humane Society of Northwest Montana, home of the Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center, volunteer projects are ongoing and volunteers age 16 or older are needed every day, 365 days a year.

To find out how you can lend a helping hand on the “National Day of Service” and get involved on a regular basis, phone the Humane Society at 752-7297 (PAWS) or attend the Humane Society’s one-hour Volunteer Orientation session on Saturday, January 19th at 11 a.m. at the adoption center located at 100 Adopt A Pet Way in Kalispell.

Volunteers are needed at the Adoption Center, located off Hwy 93 between Kalispell and Whitefish, and at the Humane Society Thrift Store located in Evergreen next door to JoAnn’s.

Whether you want to groom cats, walk dogs, play fetch in the pet park, help feed & water the animals, clean kennels, answer phones, greet visitors, assist with community events, or sort and sell donated thrift store items, the Humane Society needs your help and has a volunteer job for you!

The Humane Society of Northwest Montana is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization that serves homeless cats and dogs and depends on community donations for support.  All donations to the Adoption Center and the Thrift Store are tax-deductible.  For more information, visit
